It's also perhaps the only thing they agree on.

The fact of the matter is that it is now easier than ever for authors to bring their work directly to the public without a traditional publisher. Perhaps you want to self-publish your new book and have your readers pay you directly. Perhaps you have some works that, for whatever reason, cannot find a mass market home. Perhaps some of your work has already been published and the rights have reverted to you. All of these are common reasons for you to take the role of the publisher.

Some individuals have no problem learning all of the necessary skills.

But you have a problem. You have no interest, no time, or no skills in those other areas. You're not even sure where to start looking.

And that is why you are here.

The purpose of this site is to provide a service similar to Ralan.com. These pages list individuals who would be willing to work with (or even focused on) independent authors so that you can focus on your writing..

The normal caution applies - Caveat emptor. There is very little vetting here; use this free directory as a convenient starting point. The idea is to reduce search costs, not to remove risk. The types of freelancers that might be needed by independent authors are grouped into categories accessible by the menu at the top of the page.
